Let the DSD Fun Begin: Inspiration, Tips & a Whole Lot of Scrappy Joy

If you’ve ever celebrated National Scrapbook Day (NSD), then you know what’s coming—another full weekend of creativity, challenges, and connection. But this time, it’s a holiday just for digital scrapbookers: Digital Scrapbook Day (DSD)! 🥳
Like NSD, it’s packed with excitement… sales, games, community fun, and so much inspiration you’ll wish you could bottle it. And just like NSD, a little prep and the right mindset make all the difference. But what I love most about DSD is how it feels like a true celebration of our corner of the craft: a chance to geek out over pixels, papers, and memory-keeping with people who get it.
What Makes DSD Special?
- It’s our own holiday. A whole weekend dedicated to the creativity and community of digital scrapbooking.
- It’s a whirlwind (in the best way). Shop new releases, play games, join challenges, and watch your inspiration board explode.
- It’s about connection. Beyond the sales, it’s the laughter in the forums, the encouragement in the galleries, and the joy of being surrounded by people who love this hobby too.
Tips for Diving In
- Pick your favorites: With so much happening, it’s impossible to do everything. Choose a few challenges or games that sound fun and give them your full attention.
- Don’t overthink it: DSD is about playing, not perfecting. Jump in, try something new, and let go of “shoulds.”
- Stay inspired: Bookmark your favorite layouts in the gallery for a creative boost later, even after the weekend winds down.
Join the Fun With Me
This year, I’m hosting a challenge called Spin It Scrap It—a playful spin (literally!) on getting your creativity flowing. Every spin of the wheel gives you a unique prompt to scrap, and everyone who participates will be entered into a drawing for $15 to my store.
A Little Creative Spark for You
If your mojo needs a boost, try one of these:
- Scrap a “current favorite” (song, snack, TV show).
- Challenge yourself with a different format (TN page, 6×8, or pocket style).
- Tell a tiny story—capture a memory in just one photo + one sentence.
Whether you create one page or ten, shop big or just window-shop, remember that this weekend is for YOU. It’s a chance to celebrate your stories, your creativity, and this incredible community of scrappers.
So let’s dive in… DSD 2025 is here, and I can’t wait to celebrate with you!
