I love creating pocket card sets that include a good mix of journal cards and filler cards. Each type has its own purpose and can be a great addition to so many projects. I’d say Happy Fri-Yay but it doesn’t feel so happy today. COVID has struck the household and I’m officially down and out with it. Boo on it. But it’s a big weekend in digi land so we won’t let that stop us!

While I couldn’t take home those glorious huge

While I couldn’t take home those glorious huge cactus that surrounded us in the desert, I was able to snag me an “old man” cactus from a local nursery. He is so cute and a perfect addition to my cactus/succulent collection. I love him so much!

The whole trip was such an amazing experience and I loved reminiscing about it while working on my new collection, Wild & Free. Filled with some of my favorites, this collection will soon become a favorite on your stash too!

This morning we have a tiny break in this crazy he

This morning we have a tiny break in this crazy heat we’ve been having. Reminds me of the relief we found in the early hours of the desert before the later part of the day starting kicking up the heat.

Besides the scenery and just experiencing the desert, we were there to rockhound and found some wonderful specimens. My nephew is a geologist and we all love to rockhound like this. He has taught us so much about the different minerals/rocks and how to identify them. (Maybe I need to do a rock/crystal collection next haha) I, of course, wanted to take one of the many beautiful cactus that were dotted around the landscape with all the beautiful native plants and flowers. Alas, they needed to stay there and I just had to admire them and dream haha.

Did you see? August is almost over! Where did it go?! I am all ready for the fall season but August sure did feel like it flew right past us. As we get these last days of summer in, I’ve been looking back to my New Mexico trip this past June and felt inspired to do a nod to the southwest and my love of the desert with my new release, Wild & Free.

This collection was so fun to make with all the western style boots and hats and my most favorite things of all… loads of pretty cactus. With those end of summer colors and just a wild and spit-fire vibe, Wild & Free captures that essence of letting go and enjoying this world around us.
